IGF-1 LR3 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 Long R3)
IGF-1 LR3 is a synthetic 83-amino acid analog of human insulin-like growth factor. It is approximately 3x more potent than native IGF-1 with a 20–30 hour half-life due to reduced IGF-binding protein interaction.
Mechanism of Action
IGF-1 LR3 is a full IGF-1 receptor agonist with an N-terminal extension and R3 substitution that prevent sequestration by IGF-binding proteins, maintaining elevated free circulating levels.
This modification allows sustained receptor activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and MAPK/ERK pathways, driving:
Protein synthesis
Satellite cell activation
Muscle hypertrophy
Muscle hyperplasia
The extended half-life (20–30 hours vs. 12–15 minutes for native IGF-1) enables once-daily dosing
